OUR STORY

The Skill Development Program (SDP) was established in 2004 by the first graduating batch of Shanthimalai Trust's Secondary School with a vision to help deserving rural students pursue higher education and build successful careers. Serving more than 80 villages across the Tiruvannamalai district, the program was created to address the challenge faced by many talented students who are unable to continue their education due to financial and social barriers. By providing scholarships for higher education and vocational training, we strive to ensure that every motivated student has the opportunity to achieve their full potential.

Over the years, the program has evolved beyond financial assistance into a holistic development initiative. Students receive academic support, career guidance, mentoring, life-skills training, English and computer education, and exposure to professional workplaces through industry visits and corporate mentoring. Since 2004, more than 1,200 students have benefited from the program, many of whom have gone on to become skilled professionals, creating a positive impact within their families, communities, and society.
